Goce said she had been worried about a wound on her arm which had become infected and which doctors told her could be gangrenous.

He said: “The doctors did not appreciate that she was sensitive and they frightened her.

“We went out in Sofia so she could forget the problem, but she kept saying they will cut off her arm.”

Goce said he had been asleep on the night she took her own life and woke up to find Desislava gone, the door locked and the kitchen window was open.

“I was in shock, she had jumped out of the window. I could not believe it. I blame the doctors,” he said.

He added that Desislava had had a difficult life, losing both parents at a young age and being raped five years ago.

But Goce said she had managed to put her problems behind her, adding they they had been inseparable and planning to marry in the autumn.
