The body of this pretty student has been found after she walked home from a party and apparently fell in a river where it is believed she drowned.
Kristina Kukushkina, 22, was last seen at 5:30 am on 29 January as she was on her way home from a bar along Birzhevaya Liniya street in Russia’s second city of St Petersburg.
Since then her parents and boyfriend have searched tirelessly for her before the gruesome discovery was made.
According to local media, surveillance footage has since been unearthed which shows the 22-year-old student, who studied at St Petersburg’s top business school – the National Research University – Higher School of Economics, falling into the Neva river.
Her dead body was later found by the Leitenant Schmidta embankment.
Her boyfriend Lev Vasiliev, whose age has not been reported, later wrote on his social media page: “Based on footage from CCTV cameras, Kristina fell into Neva. Please, take care of yourself and your loved ones.”
The corpse of the deceased student has been transferred to local police, who will arrange an autopsy.
Netizens on Russian social media lambasted the woman for walking home alone although it is unclear how this may have contributed to her demise.
Netizen ‘Chelovyek’ said: “I feel bad for this girl, but she was a silly one.”
While ‘Denis Tarasov’ added: “Such a stupid death. Stupid-stupid girl.”
However, other netizens expressed sympathy and offered their sadness to the woman’s family.
‘DenArch’ said: “My condolences to her family.”
Another one ‘VF812’ commented: “Whatever happened to her, this is a tragedy. Wishing her parents lots of strength.”
