This pretty mum has been found dead in a hospital bedroom after undergoing liposuction and the clinic has now been shut down as it was not authorised to perform the surgery.
According to local media, Marlene Rivera Malque was reportedly found dead in the Kosmo Medic clinic in the district of Surco in the Peruvian capital of Lima in the central coast of Peru after undergoing liposuction.
The victim’s daughter, whose name is unknown, told local reporters: “The operation lasted two hours after she was supposed to rest for three hours, she would then wear a girdle and she would leave the place walking. But she never left walking, I never knew anything else about her.
“Nobody told us anything. The police gave us the news. The anaesthesiologist who gave her first aid is not registered in the Medical School.”
The clinic was reportedly closed by local authorities as it did not have the authorisation to perform that kind of surgery.
Reports state that the local authorities have not been able to locate doctor Ina Cecilia Segura Espiritu who allegedly performed the surgery. It is unclear if she is trying to evade justice.
According to the family, Rivera Malque paid 2,000 PEN (454 GBP) for the surgery that she saw advertised on social media.
Other employees of the clinic were reportedly quizzed by the police and the case is being investigated.
