Pretty Chinese Influencer Drinks Pesticide During Livestream And Dies Next Day Aged 25

This is the moment a Chinese influencer allegedly drinks pesticide during a livestream and kills herself – with claims she was egged on to do so by online trolls.

In her last upload to the social network Douyin on 14th October, Chinese influencer ‘Luo Xiaomao Maozi’ reportedly said: “This is probably my last video, thank you for your company along the way.”

The 25-year-old influencer died after drinking pesticide during a Douyin livestream, according to the news site Baidu.

The media outlet 8 Days said Lou, who boasted nearly 680,000 Douyin followers, was taken to hospital after the filmed incident, but died the following day.

Luo reportedly said that she had been suffering with depression in the video and ended up being hospitalised for over two months.

She is quoted as saying: “I appear to be happy, but this is all for show. I hope everyone will be happy when they see my videos and will see that I am happy too. I can’t hold on anymore.”

She had previously stated that she missed her ex-boyfriend and sometimes felt depressed over their split, with one friend, named not reported, claiming that she did not plan to kill herself and only wanted to get her ex-partner’s attention.

However, her family blame the influencer’s death on online trolls during the livestream who encouraged her to ingest the pesticide, which had been mixed with normal drink, according to The Paper.

Screenshots of the influencer holding the pesticide as trolls called on her to “down it quickly” reportedly went viral on Chinese social media.

Luo’s friend claimed she mixed the pesticide with normal drink and that she called for an ambulance as soon as the livestream had finished.

The police have yet to release a statement on the ongoing investigation.
