The lifeless body has been found of a young 8-months pregnant woman who is believed to have been kidnapped so her baby could be cut out of her womb.

The disappearance of Monica Segura Temich, 22, was reported by her parents more than a month ago in the municipality of Juarez in the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon.

According to local media, the heavily pregnant woman was lured into a meeting with her suspected kidnapper who used a false alias on Facebook and joined a group that offered clothes, diapers, and financial aid to poor pregnant women.

On the premise of giving her clothes and help, a woman, identified only as Yuli N, 33, allegedly kidnapped the pregnant woman and took her to an illegal veterinary clinic where a cesarean was performed on her to extract the baby.

According to media sources, the autopsy results performed on the victim confirmed the cause of death as a severe loss of blood caused by a cut made in the pregnant woman’s abdomen with a sharp object.

The investigation into Monica’s disappearance led them to Yuli when she was found under suspicious circumstances with a baby whose origin she was unable to explain.

Yuli was arrested after authorities allegedly confirmed the DNA of the newborn matched the pregnant woman’s partner.

During their investigation, police carried out a search of a house that operated as a veterinary clinic and found two firearms, 38 skill cartridges, drugs, and an incubator.

Shortly afterwards, the body of the kidnapped pregnant woman was found on a farm.

According to media sources, Yuli remains in provisional detention at a Women’s Social Reintegration Center awaiting trial.

The General Prosecutor’s Office released a statement saying “The investigations will continue until the facts are fully clarified with the corresponding judicial sanction.”

More pregnant women have come forward saying that Yuli also contacted them on Facebook under the name “Ana Paola Covarrubias”, offering baby clothes that she could not use because she had lost her own baby.
