Pregnant Woman Loses Baby After Shes Stabbed By Mums Ex

A young woman in her ninth month of pregnancy has lost her baby after being stabbed in the belly by her mum’s ex-lover.

Natalia Patricia Gimenes, 24, was stabbed in the left arm and upper abdomen by 38-year-old Davi Antonio de Souza on Friday night, 18th September.

The incident took place outside the victim’s house in the municipality of Pirajui, in the south-eastern Brazilian state of Sao Paulo.

Police have speculated that Mr Souza had turned up at the house looking for the victim’s mother, with whom he had previously been in a relationship.

According to the incident report, Mr Souza got into an argument with Ms Gimenes. Her husband and mother, who were in the house at the time, came out into the street to try to calm the pair down. However, Mr Souza then stabbed Ms Gimenes before fleeing the scene.

Ms Gimenes was rushed to a local hospital. However, due to the severity of her condition, she was transferred to a bigger hospital in the nearby city of Bauru. Her baby, a girl, had to be aborted at 2am on Saturday, 19th September. She remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Police seized the knife Mr Souza used and had dropped at the crime scene. He remains at large and the police have ordered his preventive detention when he is caught.
