As the attending emergency doctor could not determine a natural cause of death, he informed the police and the Munich prosecutor’s office called for an autopsy.

Police spokesman Stefan Sonntag said: “Based on the findings and extensive investigations, we believe he was murdered.”

According to local media, the cops found a syringe in Hans-Gottfried’s room.

They suspect that he was killed by an overdose of painkillers injected into his system.

However, neither the police nor public prosecutor’s office has commented further due to the ongoing investigation.

According to local media, local residents had been speculating for a while that Ekatarina was involved in her husband’s death.

One neighbour said: “Many of us have suspected this. Everyone was surprised that he died so suddenly.”

The Bulgarian nurse, who drives a Porsche and was nicknamed “the fur coat lady” because of her lover of the expensive cots had reportedly separated from her husband, and had been living in a nearby flat for the past few months.

She has so far refused to comment on the alleged murder during questioning, according to reports.

The investigation is ongoing.
