A porn actress has been jailed for 14 days for baring her bum outside a cathedral near the Kremlin.
Ksenia Damova, better known online as Rita Fox, was arrested for ‘hooliganism’ and will have to spend 14 days behind bars, according to the news site Gazeta.
She posted the image on social media for her fans, prompting the police to investigate the incident as it was taken on Moscow’s Red Square.
The Tverskoy District Court sentenced the adult actress to 14 days’ detention for petty hooliganism, as reported by the Russian news agency RIA Novosti on 3rd November.
Damova explained that it was never her intention to “offend our grandfathers and great-grandfathers” by baring her behind in the photo.
She added: “I have always been a patriot. I love Russia. For the first time in my life I decided to go see the Kremlin and Red Square.”
Last week, Instagram influencer Ira Volkova was arrested for showing her bottom outside another famous Russian cathedral.
The incident took place in front of St Isaac’s Cathedral, which is a significant landmark in Russia’s cultural capital and second-largest city Saint Petersburg.
The photograph was reportedly taken in the summer but it only just caught the attention of the authorities, who arrested the influencer, named by local media outlet Life as Ira Volkova, who reportedly hails from the Muslim-majority nation of Tajikistan.
Her arrest comes after another blogger was punished by the authorities for mimicking giving her boyfriend oral sex in front of Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow in images that were deemed “disgraceful”.
Life reported that Volkova’s Instagram account was shut down after it was flooded with hate messages. It also reportedly contained other nude images.
It is currently unclear if the influencer has been charged, but she could face up to one year in prison or a hefty fine, according to Life.
St Isaac’s Cathedral was named after Saint Isaac of Dalmatia, who is a patron saint of Peter the Great, the Russian ruler who founded Saint Petersburg. The city was the capital of Russia until the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917.
