An Egyptian influencer has been left blind and fighting for her life in hospital after armed carjackers blasted her in the face.

Fashion model and lifestyle blogger Sara Mohamed Mahmoud and her fiance were returning to Sara’s home in Alexandria Governorate on 16th February.

But as they drove down the desert road, they were accosted by armed carjackers, who blasted through the vehicle’s windows, at around 10pm.

Shards of glass were sent flying into Sara’s face.

Both she and her fiance were taken to El Miri Hospital in Alexandria.

Medics listed her injuries as blood clots, a brain bleed, and the destruction of her eye tissues, leaving her blind.

A gruesome snap from the facility shows Sara lying down with her head soaked in blood and a bandage taped over her eyes.

Surgeons have already operated on her brain and she is due to undergo another operation once her life is out of danger, Arab media reported.

Her fiance survived the onslaught with superficial cuts and bruises.

Sara’s aunt told Arab media that her niece is in such shock that she has been left unable to speak.

The incident has caused a wave of anger on Arab social media, with netizens praying for Sara’s speedy recovery and for her attackers to be tracked down and seized.

Her last Instagram post for her 114,000 followers shows her smiling as she puts on her headscarf before blowing a kiss to the camera.
