This is the moment an alert teen saves a boy from drowning after he tumbled into a deep pool of water.

Video footage of the rescue shows how two boys were playing beside the pond on a housing estate in southern China when one of them fell in.

As his pal called for help, passer-by Li Yuehua stopped his electric bike and came running.

The CCTV footage – filmed in Chenzhou, Hunan Province – shows the teen reaching into the water and lifting the boy back onto dry land.

The video was recently posted on China’s TikTok – Douyin – by the senior high school teen’s proud dad.

After the rescue, Li and a friend waited for the boy’s family to turn up while reportedly telling him to pay attention to safety.

He modestly told local media: “I just did a little thing.”
