A Polish teenager has racked up a whopping 8.5 million followers on the video app TikTok thanks to these super slick video tricks.
According to local media, 17-year-old Maria Jeleniewska from the city of Poznan in the west-central Polish region of Greater Poland was awarded the title because she has 20 of the 30 most popular transition videos on TikTok.
The Chinese video app is popular with 16 to 24-year-olds and usually involves users lip-syncing and dancing to hit songs.
Reports said that Jeleniewska, who has nearly 175 million hearts on the app, started using social media in 2016 when she joined Instagram.
However, the pretty netizen soon discovered TikTok and the app has propelled her to stardom thanks to a video technique known as transition. Video transition is where separate shots or scenes are combined to present a cohesive whole and can include dissolves, fades or other visual effects.
According to local media, 19 billion views have been registered on the app for the hashtag ‘transition’ and another 5 billion for ‘transitioner’.
As well as her army of online TikTok followers, Jeleniewska has also been approached by some of the world’s major brands to represent them as an ‘influencer’.
The teen has already worked with companies such as Adidas, Fanta, Maybelline, Wedel and H&M, according to reports.
TikTok has 500 million monthly users around the globe and was downloaded 188 million times in the first quarter of 2019.
During the same period, it was also the most downloaded app that is not owned by Facebook.
