Police Rescue 115 Dogs Being Kept In Alabama Horror Home In Sickening Conditions

Police have rescued 115 dogs being kept in horrific conditions in a home in Alabama, as these images show.

The incident took place in the unincorporated community of Lupton, near the city of Jasper, which is located in Walker County, in the southern US state of Alabama, on the morning of Monday, 24th January.

The Walker County Sheriff’s Office said in statements obtained by Newsflash that they had been assisted by the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, the Walker County Humane Society, the Jasper Animal Shelter, the Walker County EMA, and the Saragossa Fire Department when they executed the search warrant, issued on suspicion of animal cruelty, at the Lupton property.

Adorable young puppies can be seen being rescued, along with older dogs, many with injuries and looking malnourished.

The police said that they had found approximately 70 dogs outside the property in the yard and that after they entered the home, they found between 30 and 40 dogs inside as well.

Their final tally was 115 dogs rescued and numerous others found deceased on the property or buried in the back garden.

The police said that “one hundred and fifteen dogs were removed from a horrid situation, given medical treatment, and a ride to a new life”, adding that the “number doesn’t include those found already deceased, or the ones who were buried in the backyard at some point”.

The police said that the rescued dogs were “malnourished, neglected, and most were very frail”.

The police statement also said: “Words can’t adequately describe the situation today on Maddox Road, but the hearts and hands of so many were out in full-force.”

The police announced that they had arrested two men, who they named as Michael Poole and Brian Nailer, ages not disclosed.

They said that both men have been charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty and that they expected further charges to be brought in the near future.

The police department thanked the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, Jasper Animal Control, the Walker County Humane Society, the Saragossa Fire Department, “and so many other agencies and individuals that came to help”.
