This shocking image shows the footballer who was shot several times as he was playing in Mexico.

The incident occurred at the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City in Mexico City in the delegation of Iztacalco in the Federal District in central Mexico.

Local media report the victim, who has not been identified, was an amateur footballer who was playing in a local tournament. There are contradicting reports on the victim’s age. Media reports claim the victim was aged between 30 to 40 years old.

Eyewitness report the footballer was approached by a man who shot him several times before fleeing to a red scooter which was being driven by another man near the entrance of the facilities.

Local media report the victim was shot four times in the torso and once in the head however there have been no official reports by the local police regarding how many times he was shot. According to reports, when the emergency services arrived on the scene, the footballer was already dead.

Media report there is an open investigation however there have been no arrests but the Citizen’s Security Police (SSC) are conducting a search for the assailants.

The Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City was an Olympic park that was used during the 1968 Summer Olympic and continues to be used for several social and sporting events in Mexico City.
