Plastic Surgeon Dubbed Dr Frankenstein Investigated For Negligent Homicide After Disfiguring Over 70 Patients For Life

A German plastic surgeon dubbed ‘Dr Frankenstein’ is being investigated for negligent homicide and grievous bodily harm after allegedly disfiguring over 70 patients for life.

One of the alleged victims, named as Andrea, has come forwards claiming that she had to have her nipples amputated as a result of the botched plastic surgery operations and even woke up during an operation and had to endure the pain of being worked on by the surgeon while conscious.

The Munich doctor, who has been named only as Sebastian V., 41, due to strict local privacy laws, is currently not subject to any criminal charges in the southern German state of Bavaria, but he has lost his licence to practice medicine.

He is also being investigated for negligent homicide by the public prosecutor’s office, and despite his lawyer explaining that “so far, no charges have been brought”, he faces more than 20 civil claims for damages, and has reportedly already paid one patient EUR 14,000 (GBP 11,700) for a botched nose job.

The victims have reportedly nicknamed Sebastian V. after British author Mary Shelley’s famous Gothic novel protagonist Victor Frankenstein.

They have reportedly claimed that “Dr Frankenstein messed up our lives”, but the doctor said during his disciplinary procedure, during which he lost his medical licence, that “in 500 operations, there was only one secondary bleeding”.

But the plaintiffs do not seem to agree, with one alleged victim, named only as Andrea L., 34, saying that she went to see the plastic surgeon to get her body back into shape.

The mother of two said: “I had lost over 30 kilogrammes (66 lbs) and wanted to tighten everything up a bit.” She reportedly paid EUR 7,000 (GBP 5,840) for breast surgery and a tummy tuck.

Andrea, who is from Lower Bavaria, said: “He had top ratings, was extremely friendly and charming.”

But she said that even after the first operation, things started to go wrong. After the operation on her breasts, she said that her breasts were out of shape, adding that “even the nipples were more square”.

She returned to the doctor three more times for him to correct the initial alleged mistake. She said: “Once, he tightened the stitches so tightly that the breast burst open, revealing the implant.”

She also claims that she woke up during an operation and had to endure the pain of being operated on while conscious.

In the end, Andrea turned to another doctor as “everything became painfully hard” after the operations conducted by Dr V.

Andrea said: “My breasts were so messed up, everything had to be completely amputated and rebuilt again.” Andrea reportedly had to undergo four further operations at a cost of EUR 23,000 (GBP 19,200).

She added: “To this day I still have pain, I take pills, I am in mental health care. My sex life is broken. I developed fears and was no longer able to practice my job as a saleswoman.”
