The two suspects, who the police say were wanted for selling drugs, spot the cops and immediately attempt to drive off, pushing past the lowered tollbooth boom barrier at 6:40pm local time on 3rd Octohber.

But police from the county of Fengshun, which is in Meizhou City in South China’s Guangdong Province, close in from both sides.

Footage shows on unmarked police car circling around from the front and heading off the suspects just as they try to speed off.

Their vehicle collides head-on with the cop car as a second unharmed SUV boxes it in from behind and officers begin smashing its windows and windscreen.

Loud banging can be heard at the toll station as the group of officers made their dramatic arrest.

Fengshun police confirmed in a statement that they had apprehended two drug suspects on the Shantou-Meizhou Expressway for the illegal selling of narcotics.

The authorities said large numbers of illicit product was also seized at the scene.

The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.

The police did not say whether any of the suspects or its officers were harmed during the sting.
