A pilot has miraculously survived a plane crash after both wings of his light aircraft snapped mid-flight, as seen here in this remarkable footage.

The small agricultural aircraft crashed on a farm in the municipality of Lagoa da Confusao in the Brazilian state of Tocantins.

The footage, which went viral more recently, shows how both wings of the small jet apparently snap upwards, resulting in the low-flying light aircraft crashing to the ground below.

Incredibly, it was reported that the pilot survived the accident, despite its apparent severity from the footage.

He was said to be recovering and receiving the necessary treatment. His identity was not reported.

The pilot, who normally resides in the town of Votuporanga in the state of Sao Paulo, was reported to have suffered two fractures, to his collarbone and leg respectively, in the accident.

He had been hired to spray the plantation and was reportedly conducting a test run in which he sprayed water over the field at the time of the incident, when weather conditions were rainy.

Lagoa da Confusao had only recently been host to another plane crash, this time fatal, on Thursday, 11th November.

In that incident, the young men Mauro Junior, 27, and Matheus Dias Fernandes, 25, lost their lives due to the force of their aircraft’s impact with the ground.

The investigation into that incident is still ongoing.
