Austral Airlines flight number 2779 took off from the Formosa province in northeastern Argentina bound for Buenos Aires.

As the flight was arriving at the capital, passengers and pilots alike were able to catch a rare angle of the pyrotechnics display moments before the start of the Superclasico.

The video was taken by the pilots moments before the start of the match. It shows as the plane flies near the stadium while they put on a stunning firework display.

The fireworks shoot up into the sky from two areas near the stadium and explode making their distinctive sound as they light up the stadium.

At the start of the video, a landing strip can be seen as the flight approached the stadium.

Popular Argentine newspaper Clarin report the two pilots, who have not been named, have been “called up by their company to give some explanations over the incident” however sources close to the company say “the company does not intend to sanction the pilots but an investigation has been opened”.
