Grim images have emerged showing the bloody corpse of a cannibal serial killer who ate his own father’s heart after he was gunned down in front of his home in Brazil.
Pedro Rodrigues Filho, known as ‘Pedrinho Matador’ or ‘Killer Pete’ had been convicted of 71 murders but boasted of slaying more than 100 people, many of them fellow inmates in prison whose crimes he thought too evil.
He died when hooded men assassinated him in the street down in Mogi das Cruzes, Sao Paulo State, on Sunday, 5th March.
He was reportedly shot at least six times by the killers who, according to some reports, finished him off by slitting his throat.
One photograph shows his corpse after it had been rolled over with one of his eyes still open.
Filho, 69 – who spent 42 years behind bars – revelled in his reputation as Brazil’s most prolific serial killer.
Many of his victims are believed to have been drug dealers, rapists and murderers he fell out with in jail.
Military Police said the suspects who shot him fled in a black car.
Officers later found the vehicle abandoned on a road with pistol ammunition inside.
Police believe that after abandoning the car, the killers fled in another vehicle.
Filho was reportedly sitting on a chair when the black car pulled up and two armed and hooded men got out.
Civil Police have opened a case for aggravated murder but had not made any arrests at the time of writing.
Filho had openly boasted about how he had killed his own father while both were in prison together and then eaten part of his heart.
He killed his first victim when he was just aged 14, shooting a man he blamed for sacking his father.
Filho – who had ‘I Love To Kill’ tattooed on his arm – was released from jail in 2007 under new laws limiting the amount of time a convict can stay in jail.
He remained free until 2011 when he was arrested again and remained under house arrest until 2018.
His last conviction in 2018 for rioting in prison was short and was finished in the same year, when he was again released.
He once told the Cortes do Flow-Verso podcast: “I killed my father in prison. I was already in prison then, I’ve spent 42 years in prison.
“My father was in prison. I arranged a well-thought-out plan and I turned up at my father’s cell.
“I had promised revenge on my mother’s coffin.”
He said after stabbing his father 22 times, he ripped out his heart and bit into it.
Filho said: “I just chewed it. I cut the tip of his heart off and chewed it, and I threw it on top of his body.”
He told how his first attempt at killing came when aged 13 he tried to push his cousin into a sugar can press.
The serial killer told listeners: “I pushed him thinking his whole body would go through, but just his arm went through.”
By the time he was 18, he had carried out dozens of killings, including a rival gang leader who was attacked at his wedding, suspected of killing his pregnant girlfriend.
When asked if he would kill again, Filho said in another podcast: “No. I would only kill again if someone came to take my life or the lives of people I love, who are my family.”
