Pet Dog Survives Being Skinned Alive By Junkie In Sick Attack That Affected 80 Percent Of Its Body

This pet dog that was reportedly skinned alive by a drug addict has survived and is recovering despite 80 percent of its body being affected by the attack.

The gruesome incident took place in Saboya, which is a town in Western Boyaca Province located in the central Colombian province of Boyaca, when the drug addict attacked the pet dog, apparently to take revenge on its owners after a dispute.

The dog is currently being cared for by the ‘Asociacion de Proteccion Animal Mi Mejor Amigo’ (‘My Best Friend Animal Protection Association’), who shared the footage of the poor pooch online that shows it eating food out of a bowl while it recovers from its multiple injuries.

Graphic photographs show the state the dog was in when it arrived at the centre, suffering from large chunks of skin missing from his body and open, bloody wounds.

The dog, who has been named Angel, is said to be on the road to recovery despite 80 percent of its body being affected by the vicious attack. It did not receive veterinary attention so the animal organisation stepped in to treat it. They are currently raising funds to pay for the cost of treating the dog.

The association said: “After yesterday’s suffering, today we are happy to see this video of Angel eating, he is a fighter, he will be victorious.”

Vivian Nieto, a spokesperson for the Association told local radio station La W: “They attacked the dog because of family differences. The owners of the animal are a couple of farmers with very low resources. Apparently, the culprit is a young drug addict who hangs out in town.”

It is unclear if the dog owners have filed a complaint with the authorities. It is also unclear if the suspected attacker has been arrested.
