Former Louisiana state sheriff’s deputy Dennis Perkins, 47, has been jailed for 100 years without the chance of parole after he pleaded guilty to charges including rape, child pornography, sexual battery, and video voyeurism.

He also admitted covering cakes with his own semen so that his teacher wife, Cynthia Perkins, could later serve them to students.

Perkins – a former SWAT team commander – will not be eligible for appeal, probation, or parole, reported local media after his court appearance on 3rd January.

He was charged with one count of second-degree rape, two counts of sexual battery of a child, one count of video voyeurism, two counts of production of pornography involving children under the age of 13, and one count of the mingling of harmful substances.

His 36-year-old wife Cynthia had previously pleaded guilty in February to charges of second-degree rape, production of child pornography, and conspiracy of mingling harmful substances.

The married pair had shocked the nation when reports emerged about Cynthia serving semen cupcakes to students at Westside Junior High School, where she worked as an English teacher.

The former high-ranking deputy apologised to his victims in court and begged them to forgive him.

He claimed: “It’s been more than three years living in a box and it’s not about me.

“I just want to make this statement. Jesus Christ has forgiven me. And I’m grateful for that. And, I hope and pray that anybody that this affected will also find forgiveness and healing through Jesus Christ.”

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry spoke out on social media following the conviction and said it was in “the best interest of our victims and justice”.

He thanked Assistant Attorneys General Barry Milligan, Erica McLellan, and Christopher Walters for their efforts to hold Perkins accountable for his criminal actions.
