A dad has been arrested in France for filming his teenage daughter and her female friends in the shower for months.

The suspect reportedly has a prior conviction for sexually assaulting his eldest daughter who has since left the family home in the city of Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Ile-de-France region near Paris.

The dad, who has not been named due to local privacy laws but who is said to be in his fifties, was arrested on Sunday (28th June) for putting a hidden camera in the bathroom so that he could film his 19-year-old daughter while she was in the shower naked.

This reportedly went on for months and the girl’s friends say that he would often be “handsy” and a bit too “touchy feely” when they came over to stay.

The dad was confronted on Saturday by members of his own family, according to reports, after they grew suspicious when he would quickly go to the bathroom just after his daughter would come out of it.

They then found the hidden camera and his daughter filed a complaint the following day, as have some of her female friends.

The suspect admitted to officers that he would watch the footage of his naked daughter and her female friends while they took showers on his computer and that he had done so for months.

Investigators then discovered that the suspect has a prior conviction for sexually assaulting his eldest daughter, who no longer lives with him.

While the suspect admitted to having filmed his daughter and her friends, he denied having behaved inappropriately in their presence.

The local prosecutor was quoted in local media as saying: “Obviously, he is barred from going home and he must seek help.”

The investigation is ongoing.
