A Peruvian woman dubbed the ‘Black Widow’ has been arrested for drugging and robbing a 50-year-old man after hooking up on the dating app Tinder.
Alexandra Dayanara Ore Morales, 28, is accused of working with her partner, Cesar Enrique Villa Torrecelli, to target men on Tinder before robbing them.
At present, the couple is accused of robbing a 50-year-old businessman and stealing expensive jewellery at his residence in the district of Surco, in the Peruvian capital Lima. However, the police have not ruled out the possibility of there being more victims.
Police spokesperson Jose Tellez said: “The victim did not fall completely to the effects of the hallucinogens he was subjected to. He himself alerted the police and asked for the support of a security guard at the building where he lives. This is when we arrived in order to carry out the arrest.”
According to local reports, the Black Widow contacted her victims via Tinder after identifying potentially wealthy men to steal jewellery and cash from.
Tellez said: “She finds her potential victims on the dating app Tinder, wins their love, and selects potential victims with a fairly high economic position.”
She was caught in possession of the victim’s belongings while trying to leave the scene in a taxi.
The police spokesperson said: “She stole a gold bracelet, a chain and a watch from him.
“Her accomplice has been identified and responds to the name of Cesar Enrique Villar, her partner, whose capture is imminent in the next few hours.”
According to reports, the Black Widow was held on a seven-day arrest warrant in May 2021 for aggravated robbery of jewellery and belongings worth USD 30,000 in a residence in December 2020. She was also accused of stealing USD 40,000 from a house in May last year, both allegedly with her partner.
She also has a preventive detention order for four months that she has not complied with to date.
She is being held in police custody for aggravated robbery and drug trafficking as the authorities attempt to track down her suspected accomplice.
