A singing star was shot dead in a street brawl when a passer-by attacked him for peeing in public.
Victim Leandro da Silva Lauro – known as Leandro Smile, 36 – had been caught short after a performance in the Brazilian city of Sao Paolo.
But when he took to a quiet corner to relieve himself, he was set upon by a furious member of the public.
CCTV footage of the deadly encounter shows the singer being booted up the backside by his enraged attacker, later named as Gabriel Barbosa de Abreu, 23.
When the singer does not respond, he gets another kick before he finally turns around and confronts his attacker.
Within seconds the two men are grappling, but as they wrestle, the singer suddenly drops to the ground and his attacker flees in a car.
Local media reports said da Silva Lauro had died instantly from a single shot to the head.
In the CCTV footage from 22nd October, his suspected killer can be seen trying to tuck something under his shirt into his trouser waistband as he flees.
Leandro was reportedly taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead as a result of a gunshot wound to his head.
Witnesses reported the brutal crime to the police, who are currently searching for Abreu.
The killing caused deep sadness among friends and admirers of his work.
The musician was reportedly married and had children.
Musician Eddy Paixao, a close pal, said: “He was a guy very dear to everyone, a distinguished musician, music producer, composer, father, superfamily.
“And for those who met him, he was an irreparable loss. We were all very sorry and sad about what happened.”
