PAW-PREHENDED MID-CRIME: Driver Fleeing With Drug-Loaded Car Gets Taken Down By K9

A Florida man who tried to flee from deputies with a car full of drugs got taken down by a K9 and was promptly arrested, as these images show.

Newsflash obtained the footage from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, along with a statement that said the incident occurred in Daytona Beach, a city in the US state of Florida.

Body-worn footage shows the suspect, Carlos Angulo, 24, attempting to ditch deputies as they approach his vehicle and try to quiz him.

Previously, Angulo had been spotted by a Volusia County sergeant while he was out patrolling the city streets with a deputy.

Angulo reportedly drove off but was seen by another deputy as he was heading for a different city at 90 mph (144 kph).

Deputies deployed stop sticks and can be seen informing Angulo of the stingers in the footage.

Angulo bailed out and took off on foot into a wooded area, but after a track by deputies, he was apprehended by a K-9.

He was placed in handcuffs and later taken to a local hospital for treatment of bite injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Deputies recovered 170 grammes of meth, 89 Oxycodone, several packages of marijuana and a stolen handgun, according to the statement.

Angulo is reportedly facing multiple charges of drug possession, in addition to fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, driving with a suspended license, illegal window tint and violation of probation.
