Stormy Daniels is having passports problems and was turned away from Canada before having to cancel another trip to Switzerland amid speculation behind-the-scenes politics is at the root of it.
The pornographic film producer and actor who claims to have had sex with Donald Trump and it was then paid 130,000 USD (101,000 GBP) in hush money is currently on a tour claiming she wants to tell the stories that have been edited out of her book.
But earlier this year she was denied entry to Canada when her flight arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport and she was told that she would not be allowed in.
Those around her suspect that high-level international politics played a role in the incident because she had been expected to appear at the Niagara region’s most renowned adult entertainment venue, The Sundowner, according to local media.
Now she has been hit again after the organiser of a sex fair in the Swiss town of Basel was forced to tell people that Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, said that her passport and visa problems had also forced her to cancel the trip there.
A spokesman for the woman said: “We have only shortly be made aware following the trip to Canada that there are problems that have arisen with her passport and our lawyers have advised us that any more international journeys are at the moment not an option.”
The sex fair organiser Arnold Meyer said: “It is really a great great shame that Daniels cannot take part, and also a bit annoying. But we can’t do anything about it.”
He said that she was supposed to do a question and answer session and sign some autographs.
He added that he thought it was all going to be problem free as the contract was signed months ago, and that she had done some great interviews in advance.
But the personal appearance was supposed to be the highlight of the deal. It was to be her first appearance in Switzerland. After she cancelled, the sex fair confirmed that they had instead managed to sign 23-year-old Lana Rhoades, who is also a porn star.
It is unclear exactly what the problems are with her passport, but local media in Canada reported at the time that it was a high-level decision made by a senior government official and that it broke protocol.
