Upon arrival the two left the car, while the suspect, who was seen sitting in the back seat can be seen talking to the driver.

In the clip, he suddenly pulls out pepper spray and sprays it at the driver and runs off without paying 116 RUB (1,27 GBP) for the trip

Footage shows the taxi driver in apparent pain after being sprayed.

Russian media report that the driver was later hospitalized and cannot see anything at present.

It is unclear whether police are investigating the incident and the age and identity of the suspect has not been reported at present.

The taxi firm for which the driver worked has said it hopes to track down the suspect.
