Local media report the baby died in the hospital from cardio-respiratory arrest. The Spanish National Police are investigating the possibility of the tot having breathed in the toxic bleach vapour or immersing its head in the toxic liquid. The investigation is still ongoing.

The Legal Medicine Institute of Valencia will reportedly carry out an autopsy on the baby that will determine the exact cause of death and will help conclude the investigation.

According to the National Police, no signs of violence were found on the baby’s baby, although they are also investigating if the accident happened due to the parent’s negligence.
