This is the moment a paraglider on skis hits an overhead cable car line and is left dangling in the air by his chute at an alarming height before suddenly plunging to the ground.
The incident took place in the ski resort of Poiana Brasov in the city of Brasov in Romania’s Transylvania region.
Several people filled what was happening as he struggled to avoid the cables and later was left hanging with a third video showing the moment the shoot came free and he plunged to the snowfield below.

The man ended up falling to the ground and suffered several injuries to his spine and pelvis, according to the emergency authorities.
However, thanks to the snow and his chute cushioning his fall, the 49-year-old man, whose name was not reported, did not suffer a worse fate.
According to the first responders, the man fell from a height of some 40 metres (131 feet) and was conscious immediately following his impact with the ground – with the video showing that the chute appears to have partially cushioned his fall.

As per the first responders’ account, the man was coherent and only felt minor pain in his back and limbs at the time.
He was taken by stretcher to the base of the mountain, where he was met by an emergency medical crew and taken to hospital.
The man was caught up in strong winds which sent him too close to the cable cars and power cables before he got entangled.

It is not clear if he has since been discharged from the hospital, and it’s also not clear if the case is being looked into by the authorities.
