A mum travelling on a bike illegally with her two kids dumped them on the road and sped off when she saw cops carrying out a routine roadside inspection in front of her.

The shocking incident was captured on the policeman’s body-worn video camera and shows the cop asking the mum: “Do you not want your kids any more?” as she rides off without her tots.

The footage from the city of Linhai, which is in East China’s Zhejiang Province, shows the officer approaching the woman who appeared to have exceeded her scooter’s legal passenger limit of two.

She was also not wearing a motorcycle helmet and riding in the designated motorised vehicle – or car – lane during the incident on 4th September.

But when she spotted the cop coming towards her, the police say the woman ordered her children – a son and daughter – off the scooter and left them standing on the road.

The policeman and his colleague then watch as the mum turns around and speeds off, with the two clueless tots standing on the busy road.

The cops later brought the kids to the safety of the pavement and were able to track down the mum thanks to her kids’ emergency contact information.

The police said she only received a warning for abandoning her kids on the road but was punished for her three traffic offences.

Social media user ‘zongyi8161’ asked: “Is she really their mother?”

‘Binqi Ranzhi-Xiaoning’ said: “Shouldn’t she be stripped of her parental rights?”
