Pakistani Gangs Settle Score: 1 Dead In Barca Metro

These shocking images show two men covered in blood in the Barcelona metro after they were among around 30 mostly Pakistani nationals involved in a fatal fight with weapons including samurai swords.

The incident was reportedly caused over control of drug trafficking in the area and one man reportedly died at the scene, with paramedics unable to save him.

The Catalan police reported that the incident took place around 10 pm on Sunday when there was a fight between a group of around 30 people who used sticks and blades, in the surroundings of the Gorg metro station. The metro station is in the neighbourhood of La Salut, in the city of Badalona, part of the Barcelona metropolitan area in the eastern Spanish region of Catalonia.

According to the local police, nine people have been arrested, all of them from Pakistan, on suspicion of being linked with the massive fight.

Other footage shows the brawl outside the metro station which reportedly saw the victims beaten with knives and sticks.

Footage shows two young men lying on the benches in the metro station covered in blood and they were reportedly waiting for the arrival of paramedics.

Reports say two men were seriously injured in the incident and another man died. It is unclear if this referred to either of the men pictured.

An investigation has been launched and witnessed reportedly told officers that they saw knives, katanas, axes and baseball bats being used according to a city council press statement.

Alex Pastor, the Mayor of Badalona, said that the two groups had agreed to a meeting for a settling of scores and to carve up the local drug trade. He said: “One of the groups came from Barcelona, from the neighbourhood of Ciutat Vella.”

Local newspaper El Pais said that Catalan police have undertaken several operations against gangs of Pakistani people facing off in the streets for the control of the drug trade.

The investigation is ongoing. It is unclear if the people arrested have been charged.
