Overwhelmed Hospital Surgeon Kills Himself On Snowy Mountain

A talented young surgeon has killed himself with a lethal cocktail of drugs on a snowy mountain after writing in a note that he and his girlfriend were being overwhelmed by demanding hospital bosses.

The body of Doctor Mustafa Yalcin, 35, was found under a tree with an improvised intravenous system hanging from a branch that had slowly delivered a deadly drug cocktail into his vein, according to local media.

The incident took place on Uludag Mountain in the north-western Turkish city of Bursa on 16th February.

The young doctor’s colleagues grew concerned after he failed to show up for surgery and could not reach him on his phone.

When they contacted his house, they were told that Mustafa had left in the morning to go skiing.

After tracking his phone signal, the police located Mustafa’s vacant car on the roadside on Uludag Mountain.

After a two-hour search involving 50 people and sniffer dogs, Mustafa was found dead from a drug overdose, according to local media.

Reports said that his body was covered in snow at the bottom of a tree in a forest area about 1.5 kilometres from where he parked his car.

Mustafa reportedly left a six-page suicide letter in his car describing how he was going to kill himself.

In the note, he claimed that he and his girlfriend were being put under tremendous strain by hospital bosses and being made to work long hours, causing enormous physical and emotional stress.

The couple both worked in the Uludag University Medical Hospital where Mustafa was the chief assistant doctor in the cardiovascular surgery department.

The police said that Mustafa died from a drug overdone before his body froze in the snowstorm, however the autopsy results have not yet been announced.

The young doctor’s body was sent to his hometown Hatay to be buried.
