An elderly man in central Italy was able to make it home just in time for Christmas after getting lost in the woods and spending the entire night in the freezing cold.

Rescuers from the local fire department found the old man in a forest near the Italian town Castiglione del Lago after a day-long search.

Footage obtained by Newsflash from the Vigil Del Fuoco shows firefighters preparing the man for boarding as a helicopter arrives to airlift him to safety.
