This is the moment a farmer loses control of his lorry on a wet road and drifts left and right through a busy junction and ending up on the other side of the crossroads.

The incident happened at the junction between Junshan Avenue and Hengjiang Road in the city of Ji’an, in East China’s Jiangxi Province, on the morning of 21st October.

The lorry can be seen approaching the crossroads where there are numerous stopped cars, and suddenly skidding along the wet road surface when trying to brake.

The back of the farmer’s lorry whips out from side to side as the driver tries in vain to regain control while reportedly failing to release the brake pedal.

The vehicle skids some 50 metres (165 feet) along Hengjiang Road and crosses Junshan Avenue before narrowly avoiding a motorcyclist who climbs off his bike and moves away.

The farmer said he repeatedly swerved the steering wheel left and then right a total of six times, and in the end managed to regain control of the lorry as it arrived at the opposite end of the crossroads.

He added that he did not see the stopped cars ahead until late, forcing him to veer away to avoid a rear-end collision.

Ji’an traffic police said no one was injured during the scare.

One lorry suffered minor damage as the farmer’s vehicle clipped its left wing mirror while skidding into the crossroads.
