This is the moment a lorry runs over a couple crossing the road before ploughing into a pedestrian on the pavement.

The unnamed driver lost control of the speeding lorry in the Sultanbeyli district of Turkey’s largest city Istanbul and was recorded by a CCTV camera.

In the video, two people, a man and a woman according to reports, can be seen walking across the road when the speeding lorry suddenly comes into shot behind them.

The driver has lost control of the vehicle and cannot stop it crashing into the pair, sending them flying to the ground.

The lorry then drives straight into a man on the pavement before coming to an abrupt halt in a shopfront.

Local media report paramedics treated the victims at the scene before all three pedestrians were taken to nearby hospitals.

The female victim died in hospital while the other two remain seriously injured in hospital.

Reports state the police detained the lorry driver and the investigation into the case is ongoing. It is unclear if the driver has been charged.
