This is the moment a Mitsubishi skids across an icy road while overtaking before crashing head-on into another vehicle.

The shocking scene was recorded on the dashboard camera of another vehicle in the Omsk Oblast region in south-central Russia.

In the video, the car where the camera is recording from can be seen making its way down an icy road when a silver Mitsubishi comes speeding past.

The driver of the Mitsubishi appears to lose control of the car as its skids across both lanes before crashing head-on into a Nissan.

Both ars are sent spinning out of control in the collision and the driver behind the crash quickly comes to a halt.

Onlookers can then be seen rushing to the scene to help those injured.

Local media report the driver of the Mitsubishi and a female passenger travelling in the front seat were killed instantly.

Some reports suggest they were due to be married two days after the accident but this has not been confirmed by the authorities.

Eight other victims were taken to a local hospital but there is no information on their current condition. Local police are investigating the incident.

Netizen ‘Seryozha Eliseenkov’ said: “Difficult weather conditions and an idiot behind the steering wheel. I gotta say that a lot of people overtake other drivers like idiots on the road.”

And ‘Igor Loktev’ added: “Look at the quality of this road, why would you speed on it so much.”
