The young and beautiful 2022 Miss Belgium shared an emotional message on social media to reassure fans she was alive following a car crash.
Chayenne Van Aarle, 23, suffered a dreadful accident when she crashed her Volvo into a lorry on 7th February just days before she was meant to hand over the ‘Miss’ crown to her successor.
Despite receiving severe injuries, with doctors having to operate on her and remove glass from her neck, Chayenne miraculously survived.
The stunning beauty queen who has thousands of fans released the first images of her injuries before being discharged from the hospital.
The video shows that although her beautiful features are covered by many bruises and a very black right eye – she is still wearing a smile like a true warrior.
The young woman testified that she had been very lucky: “I was really lucky. I could have had much more serious injuries. I am aware that I have a star above my head.”
Chayenne posed at the hospital with a personalised miss track with the phrase “Miss Anjo da Guarda 2023”.
She said: “My best friend Diana sewed me a ribbon – ‘Miss Guardian Angel 2023’. Because she thinks I’m a guardian angel and because apparently I have a good one too.”
In an Instagram message obtained by Newsflash, she talks about the serious accident and the luck of being left alive and without more serious consequences.
Chayenne wrote a moving caption in which she spoke about the accident and took the opportunity to issue a warning: “A car accident, a moment when everything is taken away from you. My takeaway from this is that inside your soul and head you must be free.
“Mental health is important. Pressure. Young people are under so much pressure that sometimes it gets to be too much.
“And through a cloud of emotion, questions, chaos, thoughts, you don’t see anything around you until everything goes black.”
In the post, she also thanked all her fans, friends and family for their love and prayers.
Seen by her side in one of the photos is also her beloved boyfriend, 43-year-old record producer Nicolas Geniets.
Cheyenne reportedly suffered several internal injuries from the crash which was caused when she reportedly failed to notice the traffic jam that had built up on a busy motorway.
And after slamming her Volvo V40 into a large truck, firefighters had to work for half an hour to free her from the demolished vehicle.
Chayenne – a former stewardess – was named Miss Belgium on 26th March 2022. Shortly after winning the title, she admitted: “I’m in shock. A childhood dream has come true.”
On the website of the 2023 Miss Universe competition – which will take place in El Salvador later this year – Chayenne is described as “a passionate singer, actor, host, and fan of all things in showbiz.”
“She has a degree in public relations and specialized as a wedding planner. In her career as a flight attendant, she visited much of the world. Van Aarle is passionate about motivating young people, and started her first campaign against body shaming with her first song #Selfmade.
“In her childhood, her family adopted many abused and abandoned animals including camels, zebras, and kangaroos, as they have a special love of animals.
“Her family is multicultural; her mother is French, her older brother and sister are from the Netherlands, and her two youngest brothers are half Congolese.
“Van Aarle works to be a bright sun in other people’s lives.”
