OLD BANGER: Beauty Queen’s Fury Over Clapped Out Motor As ‘Racist’ Pageant Prize

A gorgeous model has received a used 13-year-old Fiat 500 car with nearly 230,000 kilometres on the clock as her star prize for winning a beauty pageant in Germany.

Beautiful Rachel Kuba, 27, says she was offered a string of fabulous prizes when she won the ‘Miss Life 2022’ in July.

But she claims ‘racist’ organisers have kept some of them from her just because she is black.

One of the prizes was a cover photoshoot for the magazine that organised the event, the lifestyle magazine Life Magazin Germany.

But Rachel reportedly claims the owner of the glossy mag, Besnik Shemsiu, told her: “Black women don’t sell well on a cover.”

She added: “I kept asking the organiser. He recently said that black women don’t sell well on a cover, but that he would somehow manage to do it.

“That hurt me incredibly. I was crying, completely beside myself.

“I’ve lived in Germany since I was four years old. I am the mother of a two-year-old daughter myself.

“I have never experienced racism in this country. I was shocked that I was treated like this.”

The model says she had to wait months for the main prize, a Fiat 500 car.

But when she got it she found it was a clapped-out old banger that would not even go into reverse properly.

Footage of the handover shows the white Fiat 500 being given to Rachel, from Wiesbaden, Hesse state.

Bild newspaper reported that she has hired a lawyer. She said: “Four appointments fell through, something always came up at the car dealer, then my calls were ignored.”

Car dealer Elvis T. claims he contacted Rachel regularly.

Rachel said: “He sent me photos of how he was repairing the car on a lifting platform, wrote to me that he was installing new brakes so that the car could pass its MOT and I can safely drive it.

“It was clear to me then that the car wasn’t new at all.”

The car is reportedly used and even has nearly 230,000 kilometres (142,915 miles) on the odometer. Rachel said: “First registration in 2009, mileage almost 230,000 kilometres. I was shocked!”

And when it came time to pick the car up, Kuba said she did not even go to the dealership but was instead summoned to a dark backyard.

She said: “It was like something out of a gangster movie!”

The vehicle apparently still has issues with the handbrake and cannot go into reverse properly as the gearstick gets stuck. Warning lights reportedly constantly light up on the dashboard too.

And Rachel is also still waiting for her promised prize of a trip for two to Paris.

The owner of Life Magazin Germany, Besnik Shemsiu, has reportedly not responded to Bild’s requests for comments.

Elvis T., the car dealer, was reportedly annoyed and said: “The car is exactly as it was at the event.”
