This is the moment a speeding oil tanker driver loses control while taking a right turn and rams into cars at traffic lights, flattening two like pancakes and killing both drivers.
The fatal accident took place in the city of Weihai in the Chinese province of Shandong on 6th February.
In the CCTV footage, the two stationary cars are seen waiting at the lights as a silver car turns left from an inside lane, apparently forcing the oil tanker driver to turn too.
However, seemingly travelling at high speed, the tanker driver loses control on the turn and rams into both stationary vehicles before overturning.
The huge tanker overturns on top of the silver car and one of the stationary vehicles, flattening them both like pancakes and reportedly killing both drivers.
In the second video, filmed from a different angle, the tanker motorist appears to be driving in a straight line in the middle lane as the owner of the silver car changes into the same lane.
From the middle lane, the silver car then takes a sharp left turn and apparently ‘cuts up’ the tanker.
The tanker driver turns to apparently avoid hitting the silver car, but also seems to accelerate at the same time.
The CCTV footage was widely shared on social media, with Chinese netizens accusing the driver of the silver car of taking an illegal turn from an inside lane, forcing the tanker driver to take evasive action, while others blamed the tanker operator for apparently speeding.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
