This footage shows New Orleans firefighters tackling a massive blaze near a scrap metal yard in the city.

The one-alarm fire burning near the EMR Southern Recycling, also known as Southern Scrap, was spotted Friday night, the 13th of January.

The fire department shared images of firefighters dousing the flames as they tried to put the fire under control.

Thick smoke can be seen rising from the ground near 4800 Florida Ave, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Fire officials have not yet revealed the cause of the fire or whether it was extinguished.
