The Cumberland Police Department located in Rhode Island State, USA, accepted to check whether the cookie and carrot remains found by a little girl were indeed eaten by Saint Nick himself on Christmas Eve.

They revealed that the young resident from the town of Cumberland submitted a letter to their address requesting a DNA analysis on the leftovers from Sunday, 25th December.

In addition to the letter, the girl had also packed one ziplocked bag containing the partially eaten Oreo cookie and another bag with the two pieces of baby carrots.

Following the request, Chief Benson immediately instructed the Investigative Division to forward her evidence to the State of Rhode Island’s Department of Health- Forensic Sciences Unit for analysis.

The examination request stated: “Items to be examined for traces of DNA and compared with profiles on record for the above-named suspect/aliases.

“Items to be examined for bite marks and compared with any dental records on file for the above-named suspect/aliases.

“Any bite marks on carrots to be compared with all dental records on file for Reindeer owned by suspect; specifically those utilised by him on [24th December 2022] through [25th December 2022]: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, or Rudolph.”

Benson said: “This young lady obviously has a keen sense for truth and the investigative process and did a tremendous job packaging her evidence for submission.

“We will do our very best to provide answers for her.”

The Cumberland Police Department revealed that they made contact with the “future-CPD Detective” and provided her with some evidence supporting the presence of Santa Clause in her neighbourhood on Christmas Eve – a black and white CCTV photo of a reindeer.
