This is the moment a daredevil paraglider spots a woman desperately clinging to her car in a canal in Florida as he lands and saves her life.

Go-Pro footage shows Cristiano Piquet flying over South Florida near Homestead – a Miami suburb – on Sunday, 30th October as the crash victim held onto her car to stop her sinking.

He said: “I turn around to get a better shot with my GoPro, and I see a car in the canal, in the same canal, and I flew closer to the car, and I saw someone inside the car, like, asking for help.”

He landed quickly in a nearby field and found a passer-by on the other bank to help with the rescue.

In the footage, Cristiano can be seen running towards the woman and shouting: “Need help?”

The woman, who has not been named, replied: “Oh my God! I fell with my car in here.”

Piquet then went and found a local who used a rope to pull the woman to safety on the other side of the canal.

Emergency services can then be seen on the scene, with Piquet saying: “Mission accomplished.”

Piquet later shared the footage on Instagram with his 226,000 followers.

It is currently unclear what caused the woman to crash.
