Harut Leibovich reportedly died in hospital with fatal injuries after she was hit by the bus while being pushed in her pushchair by her mother on Keren Hayesod Street in Jerusalem, in Israel, on Monday, 3rd April.

Little Harut was taken to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center where she was pronounced dead after medics in the field put her on a ventilator and gave her an anaesthetic, with doctors then unsuccessfully performing surgery on her in a desperate bid to save her life, according to local media.

The unnamed father was called to the trauma room, according to local media, where he discovered that the baby was in fact his baby daughter.

A paramedic, who works at the hospital and who has been named as Lior Levy, told local media: “There was a lot of commotion at the hospital.”

Levy added: “The baby was lying on the road next to the pushchair when she was unconscious. We gave her life-saving primary medical care in the field which included administering drugs, anaesthesia, and ventilation. We put her in an intensive care vehicle and urgently evacuated her to the hospital.”

The bus company has reportedly said that the young girl’s mother, who has not been named either, was allegedly crossing the road when the light was red when the incident happened.

The authorities are currently investigating the tragic incident.
