These images show the moment a group of naked activists lying on the ground in front of a shopping centre covered in fake blood to protest against the fur industry.

The protest took place at the Glorieta Sasera shopping centre in the city centre of Zaragoza, in the northern Spanish region of Aragon and was organised by Anima Naturalis.

Images show 11 completely naked protestors lying on the ground covered in fake blood.

One of the female activists is holding a sign reading “how many lives for a coat?”.

Anima Naturalis said: “The animals grown on fur farms spend their lives in small cages and are killed generally by anal or genital electrocution, or their neck is broken or they are even suffocated”.

The coordinator of the organisation in Zaragoza, Guillermo Latorre, told local media: “There are more and more countries in the European Union banning the (fur) farms per se, there are even cities such as Los Angeles which have banned the commercialisation of animal fur, however, in Spain there is no debate about it”.

He added: “Prada is not going to use animal fur in any of its products in 2020 and this is very good news because it has a lot of influence on people.”

A similar protest has taken place in Barcelona this Christmas season and another is planned for next weekend in the city of Valencia in the eastern Spanish region of the same name.
