This is the shocking moment an out-of-control driver crashes into the front of a house during a cop chase and the car ends up on its roof in the family’s living room.

The incident was filmed in the village of Bergentheim in the municipality of Hardenberg in the north-eastern Netherlands while the suspect was being chased by the police. Two people were injured.

According to local media, the incident took place on 5th May at around 11.15pm while the unnamed Mercedes driver was being chased by the police through the sleepy village.

In the night footage, police sirens are heard in the background as the Mercedes’ headlights appear on the screen followed by a loud skidding noise.

The car appears to hit a kerb and then hurtles towards the house before a loud crash fills the air.

The vehicle is then seen on its roof after hitting the house and completely destroying a wall before crashing inside.

According to reports, two people were in the house at the time and eyewitnesses said it was a man and a woman.

A rescue helicopter reportedly airlifted two injured people to hospital, although it is unclear if they were the car occupants or the couple in the house.

The severity of their injuries is also unknown at this stage, as is the reason behind the initial car chase.

The police investigation is ongoing.
