Nigerian Woman Beats Hubbys Second Wife And Sets Her Ablaze In Home

A Nigerian woman has been arrested for beating and burning to death her husband’s second wife just weeks after the wedding.

Amina Aliyu is accused of killing Fatima Aliyu in the city of Minna in the Nigerian state of Niger on Tuesday 23th March.

Amina reportedly beat up her husband’s other wife before locking her up inside the house and setting it on fire.

According to relatives, Fatima lived in the Nigerian city of Katsina before the wedding several weeks ago, and the two wives did not reside in the same home.

Amina allegedly went to the victim’s house to carry out the attack.

A male family member, who wished to remain anonymous, told local media: “They were not living in the same house but the first wife went to her home, which is not far from hers, and beat her up before locking her in the room which she then set ablaze.”

Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun said, “On Tuesday, one Bello Lawal of Gwari Motors, Bosso Road, Minna, reported on behalf of one Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi, 45 years old, of Mandela Road, Sauka Kahuta, that one Fati Aliyu, his second wife and of the same address, was found lying dead in a pool of blood inside her parlour with part of her body burned.

“Immediately the information was received, the command swung into action and arrested one Amina Aliyu, aged 24, of the same address, a senior and co-wife to the deceased who was alleged to have killed the deceased with a pestle (heavy grinding tool with a rounded end) by a witness who is also a sister of the suspect.”

The police added that the weapon was seized and the investigation is ongoing.
