The Brazilian star has been linked with a return to Spain with either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Le10sport report that Neymar “has stopped everything” in his negotiations with the club and French sports newspaper L’Equipe said that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are willing to listen to significant offers for the Brazilian.

Reports state that PSG have been working on the contract extension for months and le10sport said that the club re-hiring Brazilian Leonardo as the Sporting Director was partly motivated in the hope he would convince his compatriot to sign the extension.

The contract extensions would reportedly see Neymar receive improved terms, making him PSG’s best-paid-player of all time, offering him one more year and 30 million EUR (26.7 million GBP) per year.

Neymar, 27, was bought by PSG from Barcelona in 2017 for a world record 222-million-EUR (198-million-GBP) fee. The club have re-appointed Leonardo as their Sporting Director, the same position he held from 2011 to 2013 at the French giants.
