This is the startling moment Neymar and his Paris Saint-Germain teammates lean out of speeding 4WDs to cheer on their camels during a race in Qatar.

The startling scenes were filmed during Paris Saint-Germain’s winter break tour in Qatar when some of the team’s stars took time out to attend a camel race at the Al Shahaniya near the Qatari capital Doha.

In the video, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) stars such as Kylian Mbappe, Dani Alves and Thiago Silva can be seen arriving at the racecourse.

The stars then follow the camel race in speeding 4WDs which drive next to the sprinting animals.

The players were given walkie-talkies to “communicate” with their respective camels and the footballers can be seen shouting advice to the animals.

Neymar can be seen leaning out of the speeding 4WD as he cheers his camel on and another clips shows him smacking the side of his car during the race.

Local media report Neymar and coach Thomas Tuchel’s camel won and the pair were each handed cheques of 25,000 EUR by the club’s official partner, Ooredoo, a telephone operator, with the money reportedly being donated the Paris Saint-Germain Endowment fund.

Reports state the race involved 13 camels running the length of the 2.5-mile course.

PSG have been in Qatar ahead of returning to action this weekend after their winter break. The Ligue 1 champions take on bottom side Guingamp at home on Saturday.
