Newborn Abandoned With Umbilical Cord Attached

This is the newborn baby boy who has been rescued after it was found abandoned at a market with his umbilical cord still attached.

The incident took place on Thursday morning on the stairs of the Benito Juarez market, near the church of La Asuncion, in the city of Pachuca in the central Mexican state of Hidalgo.

The newborn tot was reportedly spotted by a woman at the market who called the authorities.

Paramedics went to the scene and reportedly found that the newborn still had placenta remains and its umbilical cord attached.

The boy and will be given to the staff of the System for the Integral Development of the Family of Pachuca in order to be taken care of.

In the photos the tiny baby can be seen wrapped up in blankets during the rescue operation.

Meanwhile, the authorities are investigating the case in order to discover who the parents of the baby are.

It is unclear if the authorities have identified the parents and the investigation is ongoing.

Pachuca is located around 90 kilometres (56 miles) from the country’s capital Mexico City and has a population of 277,000.
