New Mums Tear Up As Band Plays Tribute Outside Baby Ward

This is the moment young mums are honoured on Mother’s Day in Russia by a police brass band standing on elevated platforms outside the maternity ward window.

The charming display took place at the Moscow Regional Perinatal Centre in the city of Balashikha in the western Russian region of Moscow Oblast and chief physician Olga Serova called it an “amazing event that filled the whole hospital with joy”.

She added: “All the mums were happy and smiling, some of them had tears in their eye. Our patients felt the love and respect for their journeys as mothers. It was very important for them.”

Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs spokeswoman Irina Volk said: “The musicians of the Moscow City Police’s brass band congratulated the patient’s of the perinatal centre on the third floor using elevated platforms.

“They presented flowers and the band played ‘Lullaby of Mommy Bear’ from the cartoon ‘Umka’.

“The band also staged a small concert in the reception of the centre with balloons and flowers.

“Police officers congratulated the mums as well as the doctors, nurses and staff for all their important work.”

The Moscow Regional Perinatal Centre was acclaimed as the best in Russia this year.

The centre has over 160 qualified doctors and around 6,000 babies are born there every year.
