This is the moment a huge metal cylinder plummets from the sky and lands in the middle of the road right in front of a stunned driver.

The dash-cam footage was filmed in the city of Suzhou in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, and was widely shared on the social network Douyin, also known as TikTok, last week.

According to the news site Weibo, the mysterious cylinder landed right in front of the passing motorist, name not disclosed, who said they were shocked by the incident and got out of their car to check what had just happened.

In the video, filmed by the driver’s dashboard-camera, the motorist is seen driving along a narrow street with trees lining both sides.

A crashing sound is heard in the distance before a large silver object suddenly falls from the sky and lands with a thud in the middle of the road in front of the driver.

The large object lands standing up and remains upright as the motorist approaches.

The driver who makes an excavation of shock stops the car in the middle of the road as the large water tank wobbles in front of him.

Fortunately, no one was near enough to be harmed by the mysterious plunging object.

It is unclear if the motorist reported the incident to the local authorities and whether they are looking into the matter.
